Designing a Website for Designers
Visual Persuasion, Adobe Training relaunched under new management in early 2105. The new owner, Marti Wedewer, quickly realized that the current site was difficult to maintain, and was not converting to expectations. Being a graphic designer by trade, Marti needed to find a development team that could blend her design skills with a new WordPress theme… and retain her current google rankings.
The Solution: Out with the old, in with the new (mostly)
Since the inherited site was in WordPress, we recommended retaining the core platform and site structure, and deploying a new theme, with updated functionality, page structure, and tools to make site maintenance much much (much!) easier.
Leveraging our WordPress Base theme, we were able to guide Marti through the process of designing the site by educating her on what could change, how it could change, etc, and assisted with deploying base styles to match her new brand. We also dedicated additional time training on WordPress best practices and the new tools we deployed for event scheduling and page layout.
The Results: Improved user experience (for site visitors and administrators)
For site visitors, the new site provides an improved navigational structure that allows users to easily find classes and a new registration process that streamlines event planning and payments.
For the site owner, tools have been put in place to make it easier to blog, and handle class scheduling, attendance, and track conversions.
